Type J Socket And Plug

DOACEDirect

The Type J plug and socket, commonly known as the Swiss standard plug and socket, is used almost exclusively in Switzerland, Liechtenstein, and Jordan.

Swiss power plugs and sockets are manufactured according to the Swiss standard SEV 1011. The Type J plug is very similar to the Type C plug but includes an additional grounding pin. The Type J plug has three round pins that are 19 mm long and 4 mm in diameter, with the centers of the neutral and live pins spaced 19 mm apart. Each pin has a 10 mm insulated section at the base, and the plug is rated for 10 amperes. The Type J plug looks very similar to the Brazilian Type N plug, but the two are not interchangeable because the grounding pin of the Type J plug is positioned farther from the center of the plug. Type J sockets are perfectly compatible with Type C plugs.
